The children’s favorite show Sisimpur, founded by the ‘Sesame Workshop,’ has launched a new initiative for children under a project named ‘Promoting Education for Early Learners,’ executing numerous initiatives focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
This new project will produce 52 episodes of TV shows which will be shown on various TV networks around the country, says a press release. In addition to this, children’s storybooks, Braille books, and digital learning tools will also be released under the project.
Sesame Workshop Bangladesh and USAID jointly announced the opening of the new project at a city hotel on Thursday on the occasion of International Education Week.
Kathryn Davis Stevens, the USAID Mission Director in Bangladesh, inaugurated the project. The programme was organised maintaining Covid-19 protocols and it kept the number of participants to a minimum for ensuring social distancing.
Member of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board Professor Dr AKM Reazul Hassan, Chief of Asiatic Marketing Communications Sara Zaker, and Executive Director of Sisimpur Shah Alam attended the event.
Speaking about the new project, Executive Director of Sisimpur Mohammad Shah Alam said, “Sisimpur is always willing to work with innovative ideas for the effective development of children.”
“We are going to develop 52 episodes of new TV programs focusing on diversity-equality-inclusion and emphasising the learning outcomes to enhance their reading skills and overall quality of education, make them more resilient citizens and support them to acquire humanitarian qualities enabling them to live cohesively with the people of the country.”
‘Sisimpur’ has been airing since 2005 with a view to making early childhood education delightful and enjoyable for Bangladeshi children.
