Collectible t-shirts of LRB made under the supervision of Ayub Bachchu, which were preserved for years along with other memorabilia, are hitting online for sale, nearly three years after the rock icon’s death.
Ayub Bachchu’s family said that the sales proceeds will be used to preserve the memory of the late musician.
His family has made the disclosure from the official Facebook page of LRB on Monday.
“We have been working to preserve the memories of the rock icon Ayub Bachchu. But the process is very expensive and also complex at the same time. It took a long time for us to face the hard reality. Ayub Bachchu has never taken rest in his career. He was always on the move from one city to another, from one stage to another. He has enjoyed his last moments with his fans,” the post read.
“In an attempt to keep the fans’ request, AB Kitchen produced some fan collectible t-shirts under his supervision. Ayub Bachchu has given some of these t-shirts to his close friends and fans as gifts. Even the legend and his former band members have also worn these t-shirts at many concerts and studio shows. The t-shirts were kept with Ayub Bachchu’s family for so many years along with other souvenirs. AB Kitchen has recently decided to make these t-shirts available to fans,” added the post.
The post further states that the t-shirts will be available for sale at the official online store named ‘Banglar Gonji- Tee of Bengal’.
Ayub Bachchu founded LRB in 1991. The band was known for its taste for experimentation, with its first album being released in the double-disc album.
Bachchu is known for his songs like ‘Cholo Bodle Jai’, ‘Rupali Guitar’, ‘Haste Dekho’, ‘Ekhon Onek Raat’, ‘Ghum Bhanga Shohore’, ‘Dorojar Opashe’, ‘Madhobi’, ‘Hawker’, Meye, ‘Tara Bhora Raate’ among many others.
The legendary musician breathed his last on October 18 in 2018, at the age of 56.
