Jaya honoured as ‘Pranobik Bondhu’

Jaya Ahsan is loved by her fans for her prowess as an actress, distinctive style and fashion statements and her kindness to animals which she proved on various occasions.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, when public movement was restricted to protect people from the deadly virus, Jaya stepped out to deserted streets and fed stray dogs.

Netizens hailed her for that noble effort. Those who follow her on social media, know her as a true animal lover and see often how much she loves the company of animals.

In recognition for her love for animals, People for Animal Welfare Foundation (PAW Foundation), a non-profitable organisation that works for animals, honoured Jaya with ‘Pranobik Bondhu’ award.

The actress along with 10 other recipients received the award at an event held at the Bangamata Sheikh Mujib Auditorium of the Bangladesh National Museum on Saturday.

Jaya received the award in person after she returned home from the US on the same day.

Noted theatre personality and politician Asaduzzaman Noor attended the award ceremony as the chief guest while Sammilita Sangskritik Jote President Golam Quddus, former Appellate Division judge AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, painter Kanak Chanpa Chakma and art critic Moinuddin Khaled were the special guests. PAW Foundation founding chairman architect Rakibul Haque Emil was also present.

The event was organised by PAW Foundation and presented by Ekush Wealth Management Limited & 3s Impex Bangladesh.
