Tanha to appear in ‘Basanta Bikel’

Dhallywood actress Tanha Tasnia Islam has reunited with director Rafique Shikder for his upcoming film ‘Basanta Bikel’. She along with actor Aman Reza will be making a guest appearance in the tragic love story.

Tanha and Aman shoot for their part in the capital’s Hatirjheel Lake on Saturday.

Actress Tanha made her debut in Dhallywood through Rafique Sikder directed film ‘Bhola To Jay Na Tare’ co-starring actor Nirab Hossain back in 2014. Afterwards, she was not seen collaborating with Rafique.

Talking about her appearance in ‘Basanta Bikel’, Tanha told The Business Post, “My director, through whom I stepped into acting, asked me to do it and I have already done the shooting.”

“Director Rafique Sikder is a talented writer. He writes wonderfully. I am always grateful to him. I have come this far through his film. I will always try to work with him whenever he needs,” she said about the director.

‘Basanta Bikel’ is a tragic love story of a Hindu couple named ‘Rudra’ and ‘Chandrabati’ who grew up in the town of Pabna and later studied at Dhaka University.

Actors Shipan Mitra, Shah Humayra Subah and Tanvir Tonu will be seen in major roles in the film.

Story, script and dialogue of the film are also written by director Rafique.

Rafique Sikder’s third directorial ‘Basanta Bikel’ went on filming in early 2020 in Pabna after its launching in November 2019. Following a delay for months amid the pandemic, its shooting was resumed in December last year.

Produced under the banner of RBS Tech Ltd, the film is expected to release during the upcoming Spring.

On the career front, actress Tanha Tasnia is gearing up to start shooting for her new film ‘Taramon’ directed by Aminur Islam Liton, based on the life of Bir Pratik Taramon Bibi. She is now preparing for the screen adaptation of the role of the war veteran.

“We will also go for the poster look photoshoot for ‘Taramon’. A press briefing will also be arranged very soon. I am studying Taramon and her look.

“Besides, I am currently on diet to lose weight I have to get fit for a girl of 16-17 years. Afterwards, I will have to gain weight again to play Taramon in her old age. There is a lot to study on this project,” the actress added.
