Badhon, Tahsan to star in ‘A Blessed Man’

Bangladeshi-born British filmmaker Sadik Ahmed will be featuring actress Azmeri Haque Badhon and singer-turned-actor Tahsan Khan in his upcoming film ‘A Blessed Man’.

“The story of ‘A Blessed Man’ can be classified as an urban fairytale that falls on the genre of psychotic-thriller,” Badhon told The Business Post on Monday.

Earlier, on Sunday night, both Tahsan and Badhon made the announcement of ‘A Blessed Man’ in separate Facebook Lives streamed from their respective pages.

“Doing this post to made a disclosure. A new film titled ‘A Blessed Man’ will start soon. We need your prayers,” said Tahsan. “Our favourite actress Azmeri Haque Badhon is working in this film. I will be with her in it,” he added.

“Sadik Ahmed is directing the film. He is a very talented British filmmaker. Meanwhile, he has arrived here. We had a meeting with him,” Tahsan said adding that “The screenplay is really awesome. We have seen Bengali movies in many ways, but Sadik Ahmed’s way of observation is very different.”

‘A Blessed Man’ will be produced under the banner of Apple Box Films.

Badhon said, “A bunch of creative people are collaborating for this film. Writing, production and design – almost all the preparations have been done meanwhile.”

“I liked the story and my character a lot. It’s an Apple Box production. On various occasions, I shown my interest to collaborate with them,” added the actress.

She also told her fans that she is working on to lose her weight further to fit herself for her role in ‘A Blessed Man’, declining to reveal details about the character right this moment.

‘A Blessed Man’ is expected to go on filming in January, as shared by the actress with The Business Post on Monday.

Badhon said that she will go to India in February for her second and last schedule shooting of her first Bollywood film ‘Khufiya’ directed by Vishal Bhardwaj.

‘A Blessed Man’ director Sadik Ahmed came in discussions after directing ‘The Last Thakur’ more than a decade ago.

Director Sadik Ahmed, who is also a cinematographer, is also known for conducting cinematography of ‘Hasina: A Daughter’s Tale’ in 2018.

Azmeri Haque Badhon starrer award-winning film ‘Rehana Maryam Noor’, Bangladesh’s official entry to the Oscars race, is currently running in theatres.
