Theatre troupe Prachyanat’s 14th production ‘Raja O Onnano’ was staged at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Thursday.
The same drama will be staged in the evening today at the same venue, reads a press release.
Azad Abul Kalam, Rahul Ananda, Rizvi, Towhidul Islam, Shatabdi Wadud, Shahed Ali, Tapan Majumder, Sanjida Preeti, Bakar Bakul, Saiful Islam Journal, Ripon, Koli, Rafique, Swarna, Shweta and Jem are among the performers of the play.
Lighting and set design of ‘Raja O Onnano’ are done by Saiful Islam, while costumes are done by Toufqiul Islam Imon. Its music is directed by Kartik while Shahriar Shaon and Saiful Journal have directed the video. Snata Shahrin has choreographed it.
Directed by Azad Abul Kalam, ‘Raja O Onnano’ is mostly a contemporary experimental presentation of Rabindranath Tagore’s classic and mystic play ‘Raja’. The plot of is about a utopian land and its inhabitants and the modest king. Sudorshona, Surongoma and Suborno are three pivotal characters in it.
The play was first staged in 2008 and earned a lot of praise.
