Hollywood’s highly-anticipated action horror film ‘Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City’ and Disney’s animated film ‘Enchanto’ are set to be released in Star Cineplex today.

Resident Evil series ‘Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City’ is one of the most successful series on the game-based film. On the other hand, ‘Enchanto’ is Disney’s latest animated film. Both the films have released in the US on November 24.

With Screen Gems’ relaunch ‘Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City’, the long-running Resident Evil franchise returns after a five-year hiatus. The new film adapts the scenario of the first two games, bringing it closer to the video games than the previous series did in terms of both visual and storyline. The film features Kaya Scodelario, Robbie Amell, Hannah John-Kamen, and Neal McDonough which is written and directed by Johannes Roberts.

With the backdrop set in 1998, the origin story explores the secrets of the mysterious Spencer Mansion and the ill-fated Raccoon City.

Disney’s animation film ‘Encanto’ depicts the Madrigal family of Colombia, each one possesses a distinct magical ability as a gift of a miracle given on the matriarch Alma following a childhood tragedy.

‘Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City’ will be screened in all four branches of Star Cineplex—Bashundhara City Mall, Shimanto Shambhar, SKS Tower Mohakhali and Sony Square in Mirpur.
