Bangladesh Musical Bands Association (BAMBA) has teamed up an ensemble of 50 bands for a brand-new patriotic song commemorating the 50 years of Bangladesh’s independence, in what said to be the first-ever such giant collaboration for any song in the country’s music.
Titled ‘Priyo Bangladesh’, the song is composed by Naquib Khan while Shahan Kabondho has written the lyrics.
Artists of the 50 bands shoot for the music video amid a grant arrangement in Fatullah Osmani Stadium in Narayanganj on November 24. The participating musicians include Maqsood, Sayed Hasan Tipu, Nasir Ali, Naquib Khan, Bappa Mazumder, Hasan, Hamin Ahmed, Shafin Ahmed, Manam Ahmed, Labu, Lincoln, Sheikh Monirul Islam Tipu, Bassbaba Sumon, Rafa and many more.
Talking to The Business Post on Friday, BAMBA President Hamin Ahmed said, “We had planned the song from BAMBA as the citizens and also cultural activists of Bangladesh, marking the Goldeen Jubilee of Bangladesh, as an expression of our love for the country.”
“In last several months, we worked on the concept and style of the song and finally we have been able to execute it. Fifty bands participated in the filming of the music video with much spontaneity,” he added. The veteran musician further informed that from the beginning, it took around two months for them to complete the song.
Hamin said, “This song will remain as a permanent record which is an important part of the project.
Remembering the performers in the country’s music who have passed away, he added, “Many of our musicians who are not among us today.. we felt them and recalled their memories while working on this song .. Azam Khan, Ayub Bachchu and Lucky Akhand and many others are not with us today. We remembered all of them. I am sure that if they were alive today, they would also take part with us in it.”
Hamin further informed that they are gearing up to release the song ‘Priyo Bangladesh’ before the Victory Day on December 16.
BAMBA is the content and performance partner of the song while Carnival Concept is the strategic and execution partner and Red Dot is the visual and production partner.
