Bangladesh Television has announced a wide array of colourful programmes throughout the month of December, celebrating the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh, the end of Mujib’s year, Martyred Intellectuals’ Day, Victory Day and the 57th founding anniversary of BTV.
Several special programmes will be broadcast this month on state-run television. There will be Liberation War based programmes, storytelling programmes, documentaries, discussions, dramas, dances, musical programmes, children’s programmes, art-literature and women’s programmes.
BTV Director (programme and planning) Jagadish Ash said, “December is the month of our great victory. BTV’s programmes for this month has been arranged to highlight our victory in the Liberation War. We have tried to showcase the spirit of Liberation War to the new generation beautifully and accurately through the month-long programmes.”
The channel will also air a discussion named ‘Bangabandhu O Bangladesh’, a special programme based on the book ‘Amar Dekha Nayachin’ about Bangabandhu’s visit to China, a music programme named
‘Shotoborshe Shotogan’ to pay tribute to Bangabandhu, a special programme on 100 poems about Bangabandhu, a documentary on Bangabandhu’s prison life, and a programme showcasing the paintings about Bangabandhu with the participation of famous painters and five special dramas, along with several documentaries and other special programmes.
