Being crowned as Miss World Bangladesh 2018 was like a shot in the arm for Jannatul Ferdous Oishee. Her career jumpstarted as she won the hearts of millions with her innocent-and-winsome smile.
Today, she makes her silver screen debut with the much-anticipated cop action thriller film ‘Mission Extreme’ featuring Arefin Shuvoo in the lead role along with her.
When The Business Post approached her to know her feelings on the eve of her big day, Oishee said, “I can’t express how I am feeling. It seems a mixture of joy, excitement and nervousness. I am feeling immense pressure as this is my debut film. Soon, I will know whether the audience has taken me positively or negatively.”
Asked her about working experience in the ‘Mission Extreme’ project, she said, “I’m very lucky to work in such a big-budget film in my debut. No matter how many films you have worked on, the first film will be always special. The overall experience of working with the team was very good and fun. Everyone was very cooperative.”
On her experience with Arefin Shuvoo, Oishee said, “It’s a blessing to have such a brilliant co-artiste in the film. For my debut film ‘Mission Extreme’, I couldn’t have asked for a better co-artiste than him. Whenever I made mistakes, he behaved so patiently. He works as my mentor. He always inspired me on the set”.
The chemistry of Shuvoo and Oishee on the screen has created a buzz on the internet.
About her challenging and favourite scene from the film, Oishee said, “The shooting of the romantic song ‘Jani Tumi Chile’ in the desert of Dubai was very challenging for me. I had to walk barefoot under the scorching sun. But it was a beautiful moment for me too.”
“I hope the audience will like our film and come to watch it in theatres with family and friends. I request them to encourage us and forgive the mistakes we have done in the film.”
The film is releasing countrywide and worldwide today. The special premiere show was held at Bashundhara City branch of Star Cineplex on Thursday.
‘Mission Extreme’ is the first-ever Bangladeshi film to receive censorship for its release in the countries like the UK, Ireland and Scotland. The film will be released in 11 countries along with Bangladesh, the US, Australia and New Zealand today.
The film’s plot is based on some of the operations of Bangladesh Police’s Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit, a specialised branch designed to combat terrorism and transnational crimes.
The film has its story, screenplay and direction done by Sunny Sanwar.
The film has an ensemble cast of Raisul Islam Asad, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shatabdi Wadud and Iresh Zaker among many others.
