Sufi music enthralls audience in Dhaka

Sufi music, Turkish traditional whirling dervishes and Baul songs mesmerised the audience of Dhaka on Monday evening.

The Academy and the Embassy jointly organised the evening at Experimental Theatre Hall to celebrate the occasion of Mujib Borsho and the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh’s Independence.

Mustafa Osman Turan, Ambassador of Turkey to Bangladesh, joined the event as its guest of honour, .Alongside the Turkish Ambassador, a cultural unit of Turkish artists, enthralled audiences with musical performances, playing Turkish traditional instruments -- ney, oud, and cumbus. The Turkish dance performers mesmerised the Bangladeshi audiences with their world famous whirling dervishes as well.
