Actors Zakia Bari Mamo, Tropa Majumdar, Sohel Mondol and Tama Mirza have teamed up in a yet-to be titled web series directed by Kaushik Shankar Dash.
Meanwhile, shooting for the web series has started in the capital, director Kaushik confirmed The Business Post on Friday.
“We have started filming the series on December 7 on different locations of Dhaka. We are expecting to complete it within December 16. All of the characters in this web series are very important. We have tried to show another perspective on crime thriller genre with this project,” he said.
Regarding the story, Kaushik said, “Through this web series, I wanted to show the background story of any crime incident. I wanted to analyze the human psychology of both victim and criminal. That’s why this web series is different from the conventional crime thriller stories. In this web series, the audience will discover a different version of Sohel, who is famed for the much-hyped Hoichoi Original ‘Taqdeer’.”
The upcoming crime-thriller will mark directorial debut for Kaushik on an OTT platform. He said, “I have resumed working after two years with this new series. As this is my first project for the OTT platform, I am enjoying the whole process. Unlike the TV dramas, OTT projects are usually given more budget and time.
“Except Mamo, it is my first-ever collaboration with Sohel, Tropa and Tama. On some days we have shot for the whole night. Sometimes we shot at time of dawn to record the sunrise for the series. Overall, it was a good and exciting experience,” added Kaushik.
According to the director, the story of the web series will be revolving around the character played by Sohel Mondol. Mamo will be seen as the love interest of Sohel while Tama Mirza will play the role of his wife. Tropa Majumdar will appear in the role of Sohel’s mother in it.
“I am playing the role of Sohel’s wife. The character is not much challenging like my character in my other web series ‘Khachar Bhitor Ochin Pakhi’ but still I chose this series because of its unique storyline. I am enjoying the shooting with the team. We have plans to shoot in 24/25 locations,” actress Tama Mirza shared with The Business Post.
The web series is slated for release on streaming platform Binge.
