‘DU 100 Concert’ today

As part of the ongoing celebration programmes marking the centenary of Dhaka University, a concert featuring Nagarbaul and several other bands will be held on the university campus today.

Some of the country’s popular bands and artistes including Nagarbaul, Warfaze, Shohojia, Meghdol, Krishnopokkho, Introit, Tirandaj and Mehreen will perform at the concert titled ‘DU 100 Concert’.

Mobile financial service Nagad is sponsoring the concert.

In this regard, separate video announcements by the participating bands and artistes were posted on the official Facebook page of Nagad.

“We are coming to Dhaka University to celebrate its centenary. We will meet and talk to you there,” Nagarbaul frontman James told his fans in his video message.

President Md Abdul Hamid inaugurated the 16-day celebration programme titled ‘Dhaka University in the Light of Centenary’ on December 1.

Nagad is also sponsoring an event of fireworks and laser shows at DU central playground on the concluding day of celebration on December 16.

The University of Dhaka, which started its journey in 1921, completed 100 years on July 1 this year.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the centenary celebrations were deferred.
