Actress Zahara Mitu is set to team up with actor Bappy Chowdhury for a new film titled ‘Kustigir’ directed by Shaheen Sumon. This is their third collaboration after ‘Jontrona’ and ‘Joy Bangla’.
The director has confirmed the news to The Business Post on Sunday.
Shaheen Sumon said, “The shooting of ‘Kustigir’ will start on December 22. We will sign Bappy for the film officially after he returns home from the US. Zahara Mitu signed the film on Saturday.”
Zahara Mitu made the announcement of the project on Facebook on Sunday. “Everything I choose is mine. I am happy to announce my fifth movie directed by Shaheen Sumon,” she wrote.
Bappy wrote on Facebook, “Anything that takes place for the first time is beautiful. Happy to announce my new film ‘Kustigir’ directed by my first director ever Shaheen Shumon onwards. It’s a pleasure to work together again with you, Shaheen Vai. You are always a lucky champ for me. Let’s rock together again.”
According to the director, the film will be set in a rural context. Bappy will play the role of a wrestler. The film will be shot at Hotapara in Gazipur.
Through this film, after eight years, Bappy is working with Sumon again. Bappy made his silver screen debut with the movie ‘Bhalobasar Rong’ directed by Shaheen Sumon in 2012. He later acted in the films ‘Onnorokom Bhalobasha’ and ‘Jatil Prem’ directed by the same director.
‘Kustigir’ is expected to be released in the middle of 2022.
