Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu, co-founder, bandleader and drummer of legendary heavy metal band Warfaze, has announced the launch of ‘Loyy Records’, a record label, artist management firm and digital music distributor, aiming to promote quality music, introduce artists of different blended genres and virtual distribution of songs.
Loyy Records commenced its journey at a dedicated concert titled ‘Loyy Records Presents: Radio Riot with Warfaze’ that took place at the Jamuna Future Park on the capital’s Pragati Sarani on December 10.
Along with Warfaze, the concert had performances by many other musicians and bands namely Arekta Rock Band, Martian Love, New Wave, False Cassette, Burial Dust, A.T.A. - After The Apocalypse, Trainwreck, Pentagon, DRRT GANG, Shrapnel Method, Shahrukh Masnad-Shuffle and Zunayed Noor.
At the same event, a visual content production house named ‘SMS Production & Event’ was launched officially.
Initiated by Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu, Loyy Records is a dream project for the veteran musician, who had another prominent record label Ektaar Music before, in partnership with fours.
Talking to The Business Post on Sunday, Loyy Records chief Tipu said, “I had another record label before, named Ektaar Music. We were five partners. I was with it from 2000 to 2005. Afterwards, in 2010, I planned to establish an online-based record label, when the idea of e-commerce had not yet been incepted in Bangladesh. Later in 2020, I planned to start the new venture which was halted for the pandemic.”
“Now, we have started Loyy Records through an official announcement,” he added.
Regarding the objectives of Loyy Records, Tipu said, “We have an aim to promote mainly the new generation of musicians and we will work for any good piece of music from various genres like rock, pop, folk-fusion, hip-hop, R&B, instrumental—any type of good music,”
“We will work with anyone who is interested to work with us and if the collaboration works out,” he added.
Tipu further said that Loyy Records will distribute songs on various digital platforms internationally through the Songtradr, an automated music licensing marketplace, and other digital platforms.
“As the visual presentation of music is very important nowadays, therefore we have launched a dedicated visual production house named SMS Production along with Loyy Records, at the same event on December 10. We are now looking forward to roll out its activities,” he added.
However, for the grand concert ‘Loyy Records Presents: Radio Riot with Warfaze’ that marked the inauguration of Loyy Records, Jamuna Future Park was the venue partner while 2G0 was the ticket partner and SMS Production & Events was the production partner and Roar Sound was the sound partner.
Warfaze performed their hit tracks like ‘Purnota’, ‘Boshe Achi’, ‘Oshamajik’ and ‘Maharaj’ at the concert.
