TV channels celebrating 50th Victory Day

As Bangladesh is celebrating its 50th Victory Day today, television channels are airing a wide variety of programmes on the occasion.

The special programmes include movies, dramas, music shows and discussions on the Liberation War.

BTV will air the Victory Day special drama ‘Shei Purono Shokun’ at 9:00pm today. The drama is written by Harun Rashid and produced by El Ruma Akhtar.

On the occasion of Mujib Borsho and the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh, a special children’s programme will be aired on BTV at 1:05pm today. The program has been arranged with recitation, dance, song, instrumental music, Bangabandhu’s historic March 7th speech. Nasir Uddin Yousuff Bachchu will share with the children his experience in the Liberation War and March 7th. The programme is produced by Mahfuza Akter and hosted by Nafira Naeem Ahmed.

A special dance drama titled ‘Rokto Diye Nam Likhechi, Bangladesher Nam’ will be aired at 2:30pm. Directed by Sultana Haider and produced by Abu Touhid, it will feature dance with patriotic songs with descriptions of various events of the rise of Bangladesh.

Ntv will air a special programme, titled ‘Amader Bijoy Ananda’, at 6:45pm today, with Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artiste Monoranjan Ghoshal as the guest. A Victory Day special drama titled ‘Joddha’ will be aired at 9:30pm. Deepto TV will air a Liberation War-based documentary drama written by Fahmidur Rahman and directed by Fuad Chowdhury, titled ‘Duiti Juddher Ekti Golpo’ at 12:10pm. The docudrama highlights the sacrifice of Liberation War martyr Sergeant Mohi Alam Chowdhury who died mysteriously during an operation in Banshkhali of Chattogram during the war on November 17, 1971.

Channel i will start the Victory Day with the morning music show ‘Gan Diye Shuru’. The show will feature patriotic songs in its all episodes throughout this month. Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artistes along with the contemporary ones will perform in this show directed by Mostafizur Rahman Nantu.

Besides, a special episode of ‘Tritiyo Matra’ will be broadcast on the same day at 9:40am. A special programme titled ‘Muktijuddho Pratidin’ will be broadcast every day at 10:05 in the morning. The discussion programme ‘Muktijuddher Boi’ will be broadcast at 1:40pm. A telefilm based on Liberation War is being shownon the same channel at 3:05pm on Wednesdays and Fridays throughout December.

Channel i will air the final episode of the special programme ‘Grameen Phone Srijone Orjone 50’ after the 9:00pm news today. Planned and hosted by Shykh Seraj, this programme highlights the digitisation of Bangladesh in the past 50 years. ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak and Chief Executive Officer of Grameenphone Yasir Ajman will be present as guests along with 15 students from different universities.

Boishakhi Television will air the special music show ‘Janmabhoomi’ produced by Mamun Abdullah at 8:45am. Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artiste Timir Nandi will sing in the show ‘Baishakhi Sakaler Gaan’ at 7:25am. The channel will broadcast Victory Day special drama ‘Birangana’ featuring Aparna Ghosh, Rawnak Hasan and Manoj Pramanik in the lead role, at 10:00pm.

The channel will air Chashi Nazrul Islam directed Liberation War film ‘Hangor Nodi Grenade’ at 10:05am, ‘Jibandhuli’ directed by Tanvir Mokammel at 2:45pm.

On Maasranga Television, a special drama titled ‘Robir Abir’ featuring Mosharraf Karim, Elina Shammi and Kazi Raju will be aired at 10:30pm. The drama highlights the yearning of the women for their loved ones during the period of the 1971 Liberation War.
