Actress Nova Firoze’s first silver-screen project ‘Mridha vs Mridha’ co-starring Siam Ahmed and Tariq Anam Khan is releasing in theatres tomorrow. Meanwhile, the film has grabbed attention since its premiere at the Blockbuster Cinemas in Dhaka on December 20. In a candid conversation with The Business Post’s Antara Raisa, actress Nova talked about the release, her experience of working in ‘Mridha vs Mridha’ and her career.
Your film ‘Mridha vs Mridha’ is going to release tomorrow. How are you feeling?
I am feeling very good and nervous simultaneously. I am feeling like the result of my exam is going to be published.
Tell us about your character in this film? How did you prepare for it?
As I knew the story before, I knew the dynamics of my character Oishee. It was easy for me to capture the character. But, I tried to make preparations for my character on my own.
Besides acting, you are also involved in film production. How did you cast in the film?
While searching for the artistes, my team members of the production house said, ‘You should audition for the role Oishee in this film’. I replied to them, ‘If I do audition or act, then I can’t work behind the camera’. They said they will take care of that. The producer told me that since I know of the character from the beginning, I should do it. That’s how I got involved in this film.
What was your shooting experience?
My experience was very good. As this is my first film, I had to be a perfectionist in every scene. When I watched the film at the premiere, I felt like I could have done better. Every artiste feels the urge to execute the best performance in every work they do. People loved our efforts and loved my character as well. I am mesmerised.
What was your experience in collaboration with Siam Ahmed?
Siam is a good co-artiste. He is very dedicated to his work and respects the co artistes. While working on ‘Mridha vs Mridha’, he made me live in my character. We used to call each other by our characters’ names behind the camera just to get involved with the characters more. He was very cooperative.
What do you think about your career right now?
I am an artiste and acting is my passion. I can’t leave that easily. I always say, once an artiste, always be an artiste. I am actually very choosy about my work. If I get good script and character, I will do it. Rather than thinking about how long I am going to be on screen, I focus on how important my character is. I want to do characters those challenges me.
Do you have any plan to work on OTT?
People have to upgrade themselves with the pace of time. I am thinking about doing OTT projects. I have been approached for OTT projects before. But somehow, it didn’t happen. But in the future, I will do it, for sure.
