Theatre troupe Padatik Natya Sangsad is organising a three-day theatre festival at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy from today.
Nine dramas will be staged in three days in the festival titled ‘Syed Badruddin Hossain Smriti Natyotsab O Smarak Sammanana’, to mark ten years since the departure of eminent educationist, Language Movement veteran and one of the founding members of Padatik Natya Sangsad, Syed Badruddin Hossain.
A discussion and the ‘Syed Badruddin Hossain Memorial Award’ ceremony will be followed by the inaugural event at the main auditorium of National Theatre Hall today.
Theatre group Anuswar Natyadal’s play ‘Tin Kori’ will be staged at 7:00pm today, Padatik’s ‘Kaal Ratri’ at the Experimental Theatre Hall at 6:45pm and Shobdo Natyacharcha Kendra’s ‘Rifle’ will also be staged at 6:30pm at the Studio Theatre Hall of BSA at 6:30pm.
On the second day of the festival tomorrow, theatre troupe Dhaka Theatre’s ‘Ekti Loukik Othoba Oloukik Steamer’ will be staged at the main auditorium of the academy at 7:00pm, Padatik’s ‘Gunjan Bibir Pala’ at the Experimental Theatre Hall at 6:45pm and Arannyak Natyadal’s ‘Kohe Facebook’ at the Studio Theatre Hall at 6:30pm.
On the concluding day of the festival on Saturday, ‘Drapaudi Parampara by Theatre (Arambagh) will be staged at the main auditorium of the academy at 7:00pm, Theatre Factory’s ‘Asharossho Prothom Diboshe’ at the Experimental Theatre Hall at 6:45pm and Theatron Dhaka’s ‘Sichuan Er Shukonna’ at the Studio Theatre Auditorium at 6:30pm.
On Sunday, a seminar titled ‘Rachanar Antarale Rachayita Syed Badruddin Hossain’ will be held at the Seminar Hall of BSA at 4:00pm.
