Singer Tasnim Anika has raised expectations of audience with the arrival of a spectacular teaser from the upcoming music video for her latest song ‘Poran Bondhu’ from the newly launched record label TM Records.
The 37 seconds’ teaser features glimpses of Anika herself alongside models Asif Azim and Sharlina Hossain on the pristine beaches of Maldives which was dropped on TM Records’ official YouTube channel on December 21.
‘Poran Bondhu’ has its lyrics, composition and music done by Kaushik Hossain Taposh while the music video is directed by Taneem Rahman Angshu and styled and produced by Farzana Munny from TM Records.
In a conversation with The Business Post on Sunday, Tasnim Anika opened up about ‘Poran Bondhu’, its music video and the background story.
“This is mainly a folk song created in western style. Usually, folk songs get traditional presentation in most cases. We have done the song in such a manner that it secures acceptance from the new generation of audience. We have tried to bring a difference by doing it in a western way coming out of the traditional style of folk songs,” she said.
“Kaushik Hossain Taposh has written the song and composed it as well. It was created by him long 21 years ago. It is one of my most loved songs. He has given me this song as a gift,” shared Anika.
“The music video of the song was shot in Maldives last month, under the direction of Taneem Rahman Angshu. The music video has my presence along with internationally acclaimed Bangladeshi model Asif Azim and Sharlina. We have done the video beautifully. It was edited this month,” the singer informed.
Power Voice star Anika said that she feels lucky to have collaborated for such a project.
She added, “The music video will be released very soon, within this year. I am very excited for this song. I think collaborating with TM Records, Kaushik Hossain Taposh and Farzana Munny is like a dream for each of the artistes of this generation. My dream is coming true and I am feeling lucky to be involved with TM Records”.
“I will say that, we the artistes who are centred on music and love music, were a bit disappointed about the music scenario of Bangladesh, the way everything was happening. At this points, TM Records is showing a ray of hope. The quality music productions they are doing make me think that the scenarios in the music industry will take a positive turn. It is good sign for each of the artistes and the culture of Bangladesh as well,” she added.
The singer shared that she will come up with a surprise for the audience in the New Year as well. “For this, everyone has to keep an eye on my Facebook page Anika and YouTube channel Tasnim Anika,” she said adding that currently, she is passing a very busy time performing on stage as it’s the peak season of the year with so many events and concerts. “I’m just enjoying it,” added Anika.
