Renowned actor Mir Sabbir’s silver screen directorial debut, titled ‘Raat Jaga Phool’, has already grabbed attention of audience with the arrival of its official trailer and songs on the internet.

The government grants winning film has Sabbir himself along with Fazlur Rahman Babu, Jannatul Ferdous Oishee, Abu Huraira Tanvir, Rashed Mamun Apu and Tanin Tanha, among others.

Ahead of the theatrical release of ‘Raat Jaga Phool’ on December 31, Sabbir opened up about the film and launching his journey as a filmmaker.

The actor-turned-filmmaker said that ‘Raat Jaga Phool’ team is very busy promoting the film. “We are passing a busy time conducting promotional activities for the film. Besides social media campaign, we are participating in various interview events arranged by TV channels and newspapers,” Sabbir told The Business Post on Monday.

“We are going to release ‘Raat Jaga Phool’ on December 31. We have chosen this release date because we want everyone to start the New Year with a good vibe by watching this film. As the title of the film is ‘Raat Jaga Phool’, we want everyone to start the New Year with the smell of the ‘new flower’. There is another reason behind picking this date. ‘Raat Jaga Phool’ is releasing on the last day of 2021 -- the year that marks 50 years of Bangladesh’s independence. I think this occasion will be remembered as a milestone in the future,” shared Sabbir.

Regarding the music arrangement of his first film, he said, “The idea of each of the songs came across my mind situationally, as the demand of the story. I have written all the five songs which were sung by SI Tutul, Nachiketa Chakraborty, Rahul Ananda, Hridoy Khan, Momtaz and Shofi Mondal.”

“Meanwhile, three of the songs have been released. We are getting a very good response for the songs. People are giving us very positive feedbacks on our social media page,” he added.

Mir Sabbir, who has already proved his worth as an actor for more than two decades and also by directing TV productions, said that he will continue this new journey as a filmmaker. “It’s my passion and profession. I must continue it,” he said.

As the New Year’s Eve is approaching fast, Mir Sabbir asked his fans to come to theatres and enjoy the film. “My colleagues are already with me in this journey. I expect the audience will come to theatres and watch ‘Raat Jaga Phool’,” he said.
