Marvel projects coming out in 2022

After lying dormant for over a year due to the pandemic, Marvel Studios came roaring back in 2021 with nine titles premiering in theatres and on Disney Plus, reports Hollywood Reporter.

Among them were the first billion-dollar grossing movie of the pandemic, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’; Marvel Studios’ first ever animated series, ‘What If…?’; and Marvel Studios’ first ever Emmy nominees (and winners), ‘WandaVision’ and ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.’ The theatrical features ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ and ‘Eternals’ introduced a cavalcade of new superheroes and new mythologies into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while the Disney Plus series ‘Loki’ cracked open the multiverse for the first time in the MCU, presaging all kinds of storytelling shenanigans.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (May 6, 2022)

Sam Raimi, director of the original ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy, returns to superhero cinema with this ‘Doctor Strange’ sequel starring Cumberbatch once more in the title role.

Thor: Love and Thunder (July 8, 2022)

Taika Waititi will return to direct the fourth ‘Thor’ movie, which he’s co-writing with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, and he’ll also reprise his motion-capture performance as Thor’s alien buddy Korg.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (November 11, 2022)

Fan expectation is that T’Challa’s sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) would become leader of Wakanda and take on the duty of the Black Panther — but the only creative element of this film that’s been announced so far is its title, which at least makes clear Marvel’s commitment to this franchise.

She-Hulk (2022)

Tatiana Maslany will play Jennifer Walters, a lawyer whose field involves superhero-related cases.

Ms Marvel (Summer 2022)

Marvel’s first Muslim lead character — and one of the newest characters within the Marvel Comics fold — gets her own Disney Plus show, with newcomer Iman Vellani in the title role, also known as 16-year-old Kamala Khan.

Moon Knight (2022)

Oscar Isaac plays Marc Spector, whose dissociative identity disorder manifests as different distinct personas — in the comics, it’s caused when Spector becomes the embodiment of Khonshu, the Egyptian god of the moon.
