Celebrities with Covid urge fans to stay safe

As fear grows with the detection of fresh Covid infections and its new variant Omicron, a number of celebrities have also tested positive recently for the virus.

Dhallywood superstar Shabnur, who is now residing in Australia, is suffering from Covid-19. Her son Aijan has also contracted the virus as confirmed by the actress on her Facebook page on Sunday.

“Aijan tested positive for Corona. Everyone will pray so that he recovers very soon,” wrote Shabnur sharing a photo where she was seen with her son.

Shabnur herself tested positive for the virus in late December and has been hospitalised since then.

Last seen in ‘Pagol Manush’ directed by MM Sarker in 2015, Shabnur along with son Aijan have been living in Sydney for many months now.

Noted theatre personality M Hamid was diagnosed with Covid-19 on December 29 and his wife, actress Falguni Hamid also tested positive the next day. The couple is receiving treatment at hospital.

Freedom fighter M Hamid is a former director general of state-run Bangladesh Television and actress Falguni Hamid is also known as playwright, director and producer.

West Bengal filmmaker Srijit Mukherji, husband of Bangladeshi actress-model Rafiath Rashid Mithila, is the latest victim to have contracted Covid-19. “I have tested positive for Covid and am isolating myself. For everyone who has come in contact with me in the last 72 hrs, please test yourself,” Srijit twitted on January 1. Indian music director Jeet Ganguly is diagnosed with the virus which he confirmed in a Tweet on the first day of New Year.

Bollywood actress Mrinal Thakur also tested positive for Covid on the first day of 2022. She shared the news on Instagram on the same day and said that “I have mild symptoms but I’m feeling ok and have isolated myself. I am following the protocol given by my doctor and health professionals”.

Two other Bollywood stars—Arjun Kapoor and Nora Fatehi are also battling the virus infection after they tested positive for it just before the New Year. “Hey guys, unfortunately I am currently battling Covid... It has honestly hit me real hard!” she wrote on Instagram. Please stay safe guys, wear your masks, its spreading fast and can affect everyone differently!” she wrote further.
