Four contemporary vocalists—Protic Hasan, Muhin Khan, Zanita Ahmed Zhilik and Tasnim Anika – have joined hands to make the audience groove to a brand-new festival song during this year’s Shakrain festival.
All of them lent vocals in the song titled after the festival’s name ‘Shakrain’ and also performed in its music video as well. It was recently shot in various parts of Old Dhaka from where the annual festival originated.
The song is written by Jamal Hossain of Rangan Music while its music and composition are done by Protic Hasan. Saikat Reza has directed the music video where the troupe Rohan’s Dance Group also will be seen performing alongside the four vocalists.
The ‘Shakrain’ song pledges to be a perfect mood-enhancer during Shakrain and as well as other festivals as Muhin Khan says, “This can be called a romantic item song. This is a song full of festive moods. At the same time, this is a romantic and rhythmic song as well. People can play it during Valentine’s Day as well. It has the features to go with the hypes of this generation”.
“We have tried to do the music video amid a festive atmosphere depicting all the arrangements that happen during the Shakrain festival,” he told The Business Post on Wednesday.
Tasnim Anika, one of the performing artistes in ‘Shakrain’, said, “The audience usually gets us only lending vocals and lip-syncing in music videos. But for this song, we have performed in the video apart from lending vocals. It was an amazing part of this project”.
“In the music video, the audience will find everything related to Shakrain like playing with fire, kite flying etc. We enjoyed the teamwork a lot. We did the music video with great delight in Old Dhaka,” she shared with The Business Post.
According to Muhin Khan, the song will be released from Rangan Music on January 11th or 12th.
