‘The King’s Man’ at Star Cineplex from today

Disney prequel ‘The King’s Man’ is going to be screened at all four branches of Star Cineplex from today. The film debuted globally on December 26.

The King’s Man is a spy action comedy film directed by Matthew Vaugh. It is the third instalment in the Kingsman film series, which is based on the comic book ‘The Secret Service’ by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons.

The film serves as a prequel to 2014’s ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ and 2017’s ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’.

The film was delayed several times from an original November 2019 release date, partially due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film received mixed reviews from critics, grossing over $49 million.

The story of the film revolves around the origin story of the first independent intelligence agency ‘King’s Man’. The Kingsman agency is formed to stand against a cabal plotting a war to wipe out millions.

In this film, there will be shown another American intelligence agency, Stateman, which is an ally of Kingsman. The two spy agencies set out on a joint mission to bring down their enemy after Kingsman’s headquarters were smashed to the ground.

The film features an ensemble cast that includes Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander among others.

The film will be screened at 10:50am, 4:10pm and 7:00pm respectively at the Bashundhara branch of Star Cineplex.
