‘Montu Pilot’ likely to cast Mithila as Bhromor

Bangladeshi actress Rafiath Rashid Mithila is expected to cast in the upcoming season of renowned Bengali streaming platform Hoichoi’s much hit web series ‘Montu Pilot’.

Mithila is likely to essay the role of ‘Bhromor’ which was played by Kolkata actress Sholanki Roy in the Season 1. The ensemble cast of the much-talked about series directed by Debaloy Bhattacharya Sourav Das has Kanchan Mullick and Chandreyee Ghosh in other roles.

The series ‘Montu Pilot’ depicts the daily life of sex workers at a red-light area of Kolkata in fictionalised and humorous ways. The titular role—Montu Pilot is played by Sourav Das.

The web series had nine episodes in its first season which began streaming on Hoichoi in December 2019.

In November, 2021, Mithila hit headlines by joining the cast of upcoming Tollywood film ‘Aay Khuku Aay’ directed by Sauvik Kundu and co-starring with Prosenjit Chatterjee and Ditipriya Roy.

Mithila’s husband, acclaimed Bengali filmmaker Srijit Mukherji had recently tested positive for Covid-19 as disclosed by him on Twitter on the first day of New Year. He is currently in isolation.

Ayra Tehreem Khan, Mithila’s daughter with her former husband Tahsan Khan, also contracted the virus. She came out positive for Covid-19 on Thursday and currently in Kolkata with her mother.

According to a report of Hindustan Times, Mithila may begin shooting for the ‘Montu Pilot’ Season 2 after their isolation period comes to an end.
