Milon to contest for vice-president in Actors Equity polls

Noted actor Anisur Rahman Milon has joined to compete in the upcoming election of Actors Equity.

The election for the Actors Equity, an association of television artistes, will be held on January 28. Anisur Rahman has confirmed the news by posting a picture in his Facebook profile.

He wrote, “I have also joined the election festival of the Actors’ Equity by submitting nomination papers.”

Milon is competing for the vice-president post in the upcoming election.

Nominations for the position of President, General Secretary, among other positions are yet to be announced.

Actor Khairul Alam Sabuj will be the chief election commissioner of this year’s election while the appeal board will be led by prominent thespian Mamunur Rashid.

Actors’ Equity, the professional organisation of the television actors in Bangladesh. The organisation works to promote the right of the television actors, to make the profession a formal and acknowledged one, to help the struggling actors, to bridge with other creative professionals, to create a guideline for salary structure, to design terms for negotiations with the production companies, and to meet many more objectives.
