Kumar Bishwajit records new song for Valentine’s Day

Veteran singer Kumar Bishwajit is gearing up to release a new single, titled ‘Meghdut’, to celebrate the spirit of love during the upcoming Valentine’s Day. A music video for the song was shot in Bangladesh and the US.

Bishwajit has teamed up with singer-composer Ahmed Rajeeb for the lyrics, composition and music for ‘Meghdut’.

Regarding the mood of the upcoming single, Kumar Bishwajit told The Business Post, “The song ‘Meghdut’ is all about a lover’s yearning for his beloved. It’s about his desperate seeking to find her”.

“Ahmed Rajeeb is very youthful who is also a singer. He writes songs and does composition and music as well. I liked his lyrics and composition for ‘Meghdut’,” Bishwajit said about Rajeeb who has written the lyrics and also done its composition and music for this Valentine’s Day release.

Bishwajit added, “Some parts of the music video were shot in the US before. The remaining parts were done in Dhaka on Thursday”.

The singer informed that ‘Meghdut’ will be released in February on the occasion of Valentine’s Day.

Kumar Bishwajit recently hit headlines after announcing a biographical volume on himself which will chronologically describe various aspects of his life spanning from his childhood to the completion of four decades in music. The biography, which is yet to be titled, is compiled by singer-songwriter Joy Shahriar. It will be published from Aajob Prokash during the Amar Ekushey Book Fair next month.

“I am very lucky to have shared everything which got recorded while I am still alive,” he earlier told The Business Post in an interview.
