‘Mukhosh’, the first silver screen directorial of popular small-screen director Iftekhar Shuvo, has received censor certificate from the censor board on Monday. Though the film was scheduled to release on January 21 but it got delayed due to Covid.
The film features Pori Moni, Ziaul Roshan and Mosharraf Karim in the lead roles.
Iftekhar Shuvo has confirmed the news to The Business Post.
“The film will be released as soon as Covid situation in the country comes under control. Maybe in February or on Eid ul Fitr. I was really preparing for January 21 to release the film. As it is not happening, I am a bit sad. At the same time I am very happy that my debut film got uncut censor clearance,” said Shuvo.
The story of the film is based on the novel written by Iftekhar Shuvo named ‘Page Number Forty Four’. This film is of the thriller genre.
Roshan said, “The story of the film is very unique and thrilling, I must say. Many talented senior artistes have played important roles in the film. I felt happy to work with such talented actors in the film. I have learnt a lot. I hope the audience will love our film.”
Regarding his character, he said, “I am playing the character of a film star in the film. Mosharraf Karim will play the character of a writer while Pori Moni will play the character of a journalist. The film is about a thrilling journey and lots of mysteries will be unfolded as the story progresses. I can’t say anything else right now.”
Shuvo will also co-produce the government-funded film for the fiscal year 2019-2020. Besides directing, the dialogues and screenplay of the film are also written by him.
The shooting of the film began in Savar in January. The film was shot in different locations, including the Ekushey Book Fair, Sylhet, Tangail, FDC, and the chars of the river Padma.
The film also stars Azad Abul Kalam, Iresh Zaker, Pran Roy, Rashed Mamun Apu, Elina Shammi, and Faruk Ahmed among others.
