DUFS announces 132nd WFMP

The World Film Manifestation Programme (WFMP) is all set to return to the Dhaka University (DU) after a hiatus for around two years in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 132nd edition of WFMP is scheduled to begin tomorrow and continue until Monday at the Munier Choudhury Auditorium of TSC. The event is organised by the Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS).

So far, DUFS has successfully arranged 131 editions of this event. After a break of almost two years, this latest edition of WMFP will celebrate the illustrious career of two times Palme d’Or-winning Serbian film director Emir Kusturica.

“Though WFMP is a regular programme, we have not been able to arrange this for the last two years due to the Corona epidemic. That’s why we have arranged this year’s event with some amazing works of Emir Kusturika,” Al Sahariar Ziddne, President of DUFS, told The Business Post on Friday.

The event will start with the screening of Kusturika’s ‘Black Cat, White Cat’ at 3:30pm on Sunday. His Another film ‘Underground’ will also be screening at 6:00pm that day.

All screenings are free of cost and open for all.
