Actor Tushar hospitalised with Covid-19

Renowned actor Tushar Khan, who is infected with Covid-19, has been admitted to a hospital in the capital city.

He was admitted to the Green Life Hospital on Saturday.

Confirming the news to The Business Post, Ahsan Habib Nasim, General Secretary of Abhinay Shilpi Sangha (Actors Equity Bangladesh), said, “He (Tushar) has been sick for 7-8 days already. He tested positive for Covid-19 a few days ago. Now he has got his lungs more than 50 per cent infected”.

Nasim added, “Details of his physical condition can be known tonight (Sunday).”

A number of celebrities have posted on social media about Tushar Khan.

Actress Urmila Srabonti Kor wrote, “I pray for the well-being of Tushar Khan to the Almighty so that he can again come back to us and I can talk and listen to him with an open mind”.

Tushar Khan gained popularity through acting in the theatre troupe Aranyak in 1982. He performed in plays like ‘Iblish’, ‘Ora Kadam Ali’, ‘Samatat’, ‘Moyur Singhashon’, ‘Joy Joyanti’ and ‘Abobahika’.

Tushar started his TV career with the drama titled ‘Itikotha’ in 1992. He also stepped into films with the Chashi Nazrul Islam directorial ‘Ajker Protibad’ in 1995. He last acted in the film ‘August 1975’ directed by Selim Khan last year.
