Shironamhin set to launch 6th album, ‘Perfume’

Rock band ‘Shironamhin’ is all set to treat their fans with their sixth album titled ‘Perfume’ as a part of their 25th founding anniversary celebration. The recording and shooting of the title track of this album has been completed recently.

Sheikh Ishtiaque, the vocalist of the band, has confirmed the news to The Business Post.

“The song ‘Perfume’ in the album is based on the #MeToo movement and focuses the point of victim-blaming. In the music video, the band members have portrayed Greek gods. The main theme of the music video is the goddess Medusa for visualisation of the story,” he said.

“We have also a plan to launch collector’s edition for the ‘Perfume’ album. Hopefully, it will be released within few months. It’s now in post-production,” he added.

The music video of the title track was shot in the house named ‘Sabujpata’ in Savar’s Hemayetpur which won the Arcasia Awards for Architecture this year.

Shironamhin is also planning a grand surprise in collaboration with Brandmyth Communication, for their fans on the occasion of their 26th anniversary in April 2022 as they couldn’t celebrate the band’s silver jubilee for the pandemic.

As part of the celebration, Shironamhin will be collaborating with a Mumbai-based orchestra team, who had earlier collaborated with world-famous bands like Metallica and Scorpions.

“We are teaming up with Brandmyth Communication as they successfully hosted two big concerts in the capital. We have plans to surprise the fans with a grand concert and many other promotional events. I won’t reveal the details now but I think our fans will love every bit of it,” vocalist Ishtiaque said further.

Meanwhile, Shironamhin has unveiled seven songs from their upcoming album ‘Perfume’ on their official YouTube Channel during the pandemic. Of these, ‘Kashfuler Shohor Dekha’ which was released in May last year, created a buzz among the fans. The other songs of this album are titled such as ‘Jadukor’, ‘Bohemian’, ‘Barudsomudra’, ‘Ei Obelay’ and ‘Cafeteria Periye’.

Established in 1996, Shironamhin released their debut album, ‘Jahaji,’ in 2004 which was a huge hit. Their other albums include ‘Ichchhe Ghuri’ in 2006, ‘Bondho Janala’ in 2009, ‘Rabindranath’ in 2010, and ‘Shironamhin’ in 2013.

Their current lineup includes Ziaur Rahman in bass and cello, Kazy Ahmad Shafin in drums and sarod, Diat khan in guitar, Sheikh Ishtiaque in vocal and Symon Chowdhury in the keyboard.
