The teaser trailer of the series titled ‘The Offer’, about the making of classic film ‘The Godfather has released. The show will debut on April 28, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The video was released during Paramount+’s virtual Television Critics Association presentation to reporters on Tuesday.
‘The Offer’ stars Matthew Goode as Robert Evans and Dan Fogler as Francis Ford Coppola, but it centers around a less well-known producer – Albert S Ruddy (Miles Teller).
The 10-episode show is based on Oscar-winning producer Albert S. Ruddy’s ‘never-before-seen experiences’ making the iconic mob drama and is created and written by Michael Tolkin.
Michael Tolkin, who wrote the series, told Vanity Fair about what he found so compelling about the story. “What sealed it for me was when Al said, ‘Every day of making ‘The Godfather’ was the worst day in my life,’ and that told me we had a show.”
As 2022 is the 50th Anniversary of the release of ‘The Godfather’, there are several projects in the pipeline that deal with the making of the gangster epic. ‘Francis’ and ‘The Godfather’ will star Oscar Isaac as Francis Ford Coppola and Jake Gyllenhaal as Robert Evans. It will be directed by Barry Levinson.
‘The Godfather’ is one of the most acclaimed and quotable movies ever. And while a generation of movie fans know Francis Ford Coppola’s magnum opus front-to-back, they might not be as familiar with the incredible story about how it went from page to screen.
