Shilpakala Academy hosts ‘Mohabijayer Mohanayak’

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, the national institute for developing and encouraging arts and culture, on Wednesday hosted a program titled ‘Mohabijayer Mohanayak’ dedicated to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

On the day, wonderful artistes captivated the audience at the academy’s National Theatre Auditorium with amazing performing arts which included acting, singing, dance and music.

The event was organised on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Independence of Bangladesh and the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation.

The cultural segment of the show kicked off with a dance number titled ‘Birangana’. The routine narrated by Rehana Parveen was choreographed by Shamim Sagar and its music was directed by Nirjhar Chowdhury.

Banhishikha dance troupe performed with the song ‘Dekho Chokh Mele Shono Kan Pete’, choreographed by Shahida Rahman Surovi. The dance script performance ‘Smritite Sohagpur’ and ‘Muktijuddher Bou’ was performed by the Rhythm Dance Group and choreographed by Sweety Das Chowdhury and Rhythm Dance Group respectively.

Afterwards, Swadhin Bangla Betar singers Rupa Farhad, Rafiqul Alam, Akramul Islam and Manoranjan Ghoshal rendered solo song performances.

Poet Nurul Huda, Aslam Sunny and Jharna Sarkar recited the poem ‘Shokgantha 16 August 1975’ written by Nirmalendu Goon.

Later, Director General of Shilpakala Academy Liaquat Ali Lucky presided over the discussion segment of the show attended by Secretary Abul Mansur and Production Director Sohaila Afsana. The program was hosted by Tamanna Tithi.
