Rozina resigns from Shilpi Samiti

Actress Rozina has resigned from the post of executive member of Bangladesh Film Artistes Association due to personal reasons. She submitted her resignation to the association via e-mail on Thursday.

“I am busy with various personal matters. So it will not be possible for me to give time for the association. I went to the association on Thursday to submit my resignation. I didn’t find anyone in the office. So, I sent the letter over e-mail,” the actress told journalists.

“I did not resign being influenced by anyone or anything… This is entirely because of my personal reason, and have explained the matter to Ilias Kanchan,” she added.

The election of Shilpi Samiti was held on January 28. Rozina was a candidate for the post of executive member of the Misha-Zayed panel and she clinched victory.

There have been a lot of controversies going on over this election. Elias Kanchan bagged 191 votes defeating his rival Misha, who got 148 votes. Zayed secured 196 votes while Nipun got 163 votes. But Nipun rejected the result and filed a case.

Now, neither actor Zayed Khan nor Nipun Akter can hold the office of the general secretary of Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association until a full-bench of the Supreme Court hears the issue.
