A new clip from the Ayer Cut of Suicide Squad featuring Joker (Jared Leto) and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) has been released, reports Screen Rant.
Originally released in 2016, David Ayer’s villain-centric Warner Bros film was also plagued with production woes like Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’. The director has been forthcoming about how the studio’s meddling significantly changed it, and now, fans have been continuously clamoring to see his real version of the film.
Like most early DCEU films, Suicide Squad went on to become a box office success, earning $746.8 million worldwide against a production budget of only $175 million.
Unfortunately, it was critically panned, with people having issues with its pacing, weak villain, and convoluted narrative. Despite so much hype surrounding his debut as the DCEU’s ‘Clown Prince of Crime’, fans weren’t happy that Jared Leto’s Joker was barely in the film. Aside from his story in the film, Ayer has also revealed that Harley Quinn’s arc was altered, which had a ripple effect in its overall story. Their collective plot was also changed, as proven by a newly released clip from the filmmaker’s original iteration.
