American action-adventure film ‘Uncharted’ directed by Ruben Fleischer will be screening at all branches of Star cineplex from Friday.
The film is based on Sony’s video game series of the same name developed by Naughty Dog. It stars Tom Holland as Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as his mentor Victor Sullivan, with Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle and Antonio Banderas in supporting roles.
In the film, Drake is recruited by Sullivan in a race against Santiago Moncada (Banderas) and Jo Braddock (Gabrielle) to locate the fabled treasure of the Magellan expedition.
Uncharted premiered in Barcelona on February 7, 2022, and is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on Friday, by Sony Pictures Releasing.
The film received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the action and chemistry between Holland and Wahlberg but criticized the screenplay.
The story of the film revolves around street-smart Nathan Drake, is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter, Victor “Sully” Sullivan, to recover a fortune amassed by Ferdinand Magellan, and lost 500 years ago by the House of Moncada.
In the United States and Canada, Uncharted is scheduled to be released alongside ‘Dog’, and is projected to gross $30–40 million from an estimated 4,200 theatres in its opening weekend.
Outside the United States and Canada, the film grossed $21.5 million in its opening weekend from 15 international markets.
The film will be screening at Bashundhara city branch of Star cineplex at 1:4opm, 4:10pm, 4:30pm, 6:45pm and 7:15pm.
