‘Chalachchitre Bangabandhu’ to feature film-songs of 7 decades

SAARC Film Journalists Forum Bangladesh has organised a conference titled ‘Chalachchitre Bangabandhu’ on March 5 at IDEB Liberation War Auditorium in Dhaka.

Apart from discussing Bangabandhu’s contribution to the national film industry, popular film songs of the past seven decades will be performed with the participation of popular artistes of the country.

Former president of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Mollah Jalal is acting as the convener of this year’s event.

Speaking on the occasion, Redwan Khandaker, President of SAARC Film Journalists Forum Bangladesh, said, “Our collection of film songs is very rich. We’ve got a lot of popular songs in the film industry in last seven decades. But the current generation is not familiar with those songs. Again, many of us are not aware of the contribution of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in our film industry. Therefore, the main purpose of our organisation is to commemorate Bangabandhu’s contribution to the film through discussion meetings and to present the popular songs of the film for seven decades.”

The event was organised first in 2009 on the initiative of SAARC Film Journalists Forum Bangladesh, which was widely praised.
