Top award winning ‘Gor’ back to theatre again

Responding to increasing public interests, Gazi Rakayet’s film “Gor” (The Grave) is set to return to the theatres as the drama bagged 11 National film awards in 2020.

Written and directed by actor, director and writer Gazi Rakayet, the movie will run four shows daily in Shyamoli Cinema Hall from February 25.

Many people have expressed their interests to watch the movie as it has received 11 rewards in the National Film Award-2020, said Gazi Rakayet.

“So far, Shyamoli Cinema Hall has been finalised. Those who failed to watch it earlier will now be able to watch it,” he stated.

The film was simultaneously shot in Bengali and English titled “Gor” and “The Grave”, respectively and coined as Bangladesh’s first bilingual film project.

The Grave was initially released in Bangladesh on December 25 2020, and later on Hollywood as the first Bangladeshi-produced film.

Apart from Director Gazi Rakayet, popular artists Mamunur Rashid, Dilara Zaman, SM Mohsin, Mousumi Hamid, Sushoma Sarkar, Dipannita, Shamima Tusti and Ortha starred in the movie.

The film was also submitted to compete in the general category of the 94th Academy Award. It was the first Bangladeshi film to compete in this category. The film was also added to the 2022 Oscar Reminder List.
