‘Nasek Nasek’ gets 3.5m views in a week

The first Hajong fusion song titled ‘Nasek Nasek’ written, composed and sung by Animes Roy in his native language, has drawn a positive response from the music enthusiasts.

The song was released during a Facebook Live, hosted by popular singer-actor Tahsan, from the official page of Coke Studio Bangla and on its YouTube channel on February 23.

Since its release, within one week, the song has received 35,91,908 views, 1 lakh like and 7.5k comments on YouTube at the time of writing this report on Wednesday.

The song has been complemented by Pantha Kanai’s electrifying performance of the legendary folk ballad ‘Dol Dol Doloni,’ written and composed by Abdul Latif and originally sung by folk legend Abdul Alim.

Curated and produced by popular singer-music director Shayan Chowdhury Arnob, ‘Nasek Nasek’ was composed and arranged by Adit Rahman.

A viewer Marzan Ahmed wrote “Coke Studio Bangla become a hit with its first song, totally it’s a different song. Hope we will get some extraordinary song from “Coke Studio Bangla” in near future.

Aniruddah Joy wrote, “Coke Studio Bangla is perfect as the first performance. Pantho Kanai has been just his own comparison. Animes’ voice is like going crazy. Along with that, his expression and body language has taken the song to a unique height. Combination of Bengali and Hajong in the language month is bound to fascinate anyone.”

The song also got appreciation from Pakistan. One M Hasan wrote, “Wishing all the best to the Coke Studio Bangla. Looking forward to this musical journey in years to come. Love form Pakistan.”

Khalil Rahman from Pakistan wrote, “I have listened first time any Bangladeshi song and truly amazed with such powerful voices, both vocalists are amazing. Love from Pakistan.”

The track was performed by Adit on piano and backing vocal, Rahin Haider on saxophone, Sayonton Mangsang on saxophone, Marzuq Islam Nafi on drums, Faizan Rashid Ahmad Buno on bass, Imran Ahmed on guitar, Shuvendu Das Shuvo on mandolin and guitar, Saadul Islam on guitar, Pradyut Chatterjea on synths, Mithun Chakra on percussions and Mubarak on mandira.

Directed by Krishnendu Chattopaddhyay, the video production of the song was done by Dope Productions.
