With the slogan ‘Future in Frames’ the 15th edition of International Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh 2022 will begin on March 5. The five-day film festival will end on March 11.
Shahriar Al Mamun said, with the support of Information and Communication Technology department, we are going to organise the festival on a larger scale across the country. The festival will be held in 8 divisions of the country throughout March.
117 films suitable for children from 38 countries around the world will be shown during the five-day festival at Bangladesh Film Archive, in capital’s Agargaon area as the main venue along with many other eight venues across the country.
Bangladesh Film Archive will have a total of 4 screening shows every day at 11am, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm, where multiple films will be screened. In addition to film shows, there are workshops, celebrity talk show and seminars for children and young filmmakers in the festival.
To disclose the information, a press conference was held at Alliance Française de Dhaka in Dhanmondi on Thursday afternoon. Presided over by festival director Shahriar Al Mamun, General Secretary of Children’s Film Society Bangladesh Morshed Munni, Festival Officer Mueed Hasan Tarit, and Director of AFD Francois Grosjean were present at the press meet.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud will inaugurate the festival at the Film Archive premises on March 5, while State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak will be the special guests and President of Children’s Film Society Bangladesh Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal will preside the ceremony.
Although there is no entrance fee for watching movies, wearing a mask will be considered as a ticket for the festival like last year.
Authorities even will arrange free transportation for students. The festival will be open to all.
