Kardashian now ‘legally’ single

A Los Angeles judge accepted Kim Kardashian request to change her marital status. Kim Kardashian a reality TV star and businesswoman filed the request three months ago.

Kardashian’s application for legal status was approved by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Steve Cochran on March 2. Judge also finalized dropping West from Kardashian’s name.

Kanye West, her ex-husband, was against the request. For the last year, the former couple has been involved in a heated divorce battle. They have four children together and have been married for seven years.

Kardashian, filed for divorce a year ago. Ye, 44, filed his response two months later, agreeing on all major matters, including child custody. Because a prenuptial agreement was in place, there was no property disputes predicted. Neither of them publicly talked about the split until recently, when Kanye West took to social media to vent his frustrations against Kim.

In divorce documents obtained by CNN last week, Kardashian stated, “I very much desire to be divorced. I have asked Kanye to keep our divorce private, but he has not done so. Kanye has been putting a lot of misinformation regarding our private family matters and co-parenting on social media which has created emotional distress.”

Kardashian’s court filing continued, “I believe that the Court terminating our marital status will help Kanye to accept that our marital relationship is over and to move forward on a better path which will assist us in peacefully co-parenting our children.”

In recent months, Kardashian has been linked to “SNL” actor Pete Davidson, while West has been linked to influencer Chaney Jones.
