Pasha Lee, a Ukrainian actor who joined the Territorial Defense Force last month, Killed by Russian Shelling. He was 33 years old at the time. Reports, ’The Hollywood Reporter’.
Pasha Lee was killed on March 6 following Russian shelling in Irpin (Town in Ukraine), according to local reports. Sergiy Tomilenko, the head of Ukraine’s National Union of Journalists, and the Odessa International Film Festival both confirmed his death.
As the New York Times reported, Russian forces advancing on Kyiv fired mortar shells at a bridge crossing the Irpin river on Sunday. That same bridge was an evacuation route for civilians fleeing Irpin, and the shelling scattered civilians and left at least four people dead. According to the United Nations, at least 406 Ukrainian civilians have been confirmed killed since Feb. 24, 2022.
Lee had been posting several updates to Instagram since joining the Ukrainian armed forces. In a translated post on Saturday, just a day before his death, he wrote: “For the last 48 hours there is an opportunity to sit down and take a picture of how we are being bombed, and we are smiling because we will manage and everything will be UKRAINE WE ARE WORKING !!!”
Lee has voiced the voice to dubbed Ukrainian versions of versions of ‘The Lion King’ and ‘The Hobbit.’ Lee’s past works include the 2016 action comedy Selfie Party, the 2017 sports action drama The Fight Rules, and the 2019 comedy Meeting of Classmates.
