Nineteen organisations involved with Bangladesh’s film industry have formed a convening committee headed by veteran actor Alamgir for the betterment of the county’s film industry and resolve crisis if arises.
The convening committee will replace the ‘Chalachchitra Paribar’ which consisted 18 organisations, said people involved with the process.
The convening committee will hold a meeting shortly to discuss the condition and crisis of the cinema halls in the country along with other crisis of the film industry.
Abdul Latif Bachchu, President of Bangladesh Cinematographers Association, Sohanur Rahman Sohan, President of Film Directors Association, Ilias Kanchan, President of Film Artistes Association, Khorshed Alam Khasru, President of Film Producers Association, and Kazi Shoaib Rashid, President of Film Exhibitors Association are the joint conveners in the committee.
Shaheen Sumon, Secretary General of the Film Directors Association, Asaduzzaman Majnu, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Cinematographers Association and actress Nipun Akter will act as secretaries.
Abu Musa Debu, President of the Film Editors Guild, Amjad Hassan Kazi Monir, President of the Bangladesh Film Assistant Directors Association (CIDAB), Abul Bashar Khandakar, and Md Ujjal are made executive members of the committee.
