Sharmaji Namkeen, the last film of late actor Rishi Kapoor, is slated to be released on Amazon Prime Video on March 31. The film’s producers recently organized a screening in honour of the late actor, which was attended by his family members. Reports the Indian Express.
Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Riddhima Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Armaan Jain, Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Taaruk Raina, Satish Kaushik among others were in attendance at the screening.
After a long fight with cancer, Rishi Kapoor died on April 30, 2020. The majority of the sequences for “Sharmaji Namkeen” starring Juhi Chawla were shot in early 2020 by the actor. Following his death, actor Paresh Rawal was brought in to finish the film.
Sharmaji Namkeen was directed by Hitesh Bhatia and produced by Excel Entertainment in collaboration with MacGuffin Pictures. Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Taaruk Raina, Satish Kaushik, Sheeba Chaddha, and Isha Talwar also star in the film.
“It is one of the sweetest, warmest and funniest scripts I have heard in some time. When it was first narrated to me, I was excited! The dialogues and moments of the entire film keep you smiling and chuckling with laughter, and Chintuji’s role was tailor made for him,” Juhi had earlier said about the film.
