Seasoned actress and director Afsana Mimi has made her debut in the web world through the series ‘Nikhoj’ which will be released at 8:00pm on March 17 on the OTT platform Chorki.
The teaser for the thriller ‘Nikhoj’ has been released on Chorki’s verified YouTube channel on March 12.
Directed by Reehan Rahman, the series built the plot around the mysterious disappearance of Farukh Ahmed who remained missing since 1999.
Regarding her acting in the web series, Afsana told The Business Post, “I don’t want to make a comment on the character I’ve played. Let the audience see the series and find it out themselves. But, I really enjoyed working in this series and if I get this kind of project, I’ll keep continue working.”
‘Nikhoj’ is Reehan Rahman’s first series made for Chorki. Regarding the story, the director said, “I wanted to present a new kind of story to a different way for my audience.”
“Through the series, I have worked with so many talented actors and versatile actress Afsana Mimi. We hope the audience will like our attempt to tell this different story,” he added.
The caption for the series on the YouTube channel ‘On one holiday afternoon, what do you do if you suddenly find out that your loved one missing?’ clearly gives an idea that this is going to be a thriller surrounding a family.
Shatabdi Wadud played the character of Farukh Ahmed who suddenly went missing in 1999.
The story begins with a group of unknown people identifying them as police suddenly enter Farukh Ahmed’s house and took him away while he was having lunch with his family on a nice holiday. The incident leaves everyone in shock. After then, his daughter Safia started looking for him. Though, two decades have passed, many more things are happening behind the incident of his disappearance. Now the question is will his children ever find his missing father?
“Nikhoj” stars an ensemble cast of Shatabdi Wadud, Intekhab Dinar, Shamol Mawla, Sporshia, Khairul Basar, Masum Rezwan, Deepanwita Martin and others.
