Cultural arena set to celebrate 102nd birth anniversary of Bangabandhu

Cultural arena of the country is all set to celebrate the 102nd birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day 2022 in a befitting manner today.

Cultural Affairs Ministry has organised a programme featuring art competition, quiz show, discussion and cultural event today evening at the Bangladesh National Museum, Shahbag in the capital.

A day-long programme titled ‘Tungipara: Hridaye Pritribhumi’ will be held on the premises of Bangabandhu Samadhi Soudha Complex in Tungipara, Gopalganj today maintaining the health rules due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee in association with Ministry of Women and Children Affairs is organising the programme. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will preside over the programme where Sheikh Rehana will also be present.

The programme will begin with paying homage at the mausoleum of Bangabandhu at 12:30pm. A discussion and cultural function will be held from 2:30pm to 4:40pm. Besides, there will be a 5-day folk fair, which will highlight the art, culture and heritage of all 64 districts.

Bangladesh Shilapakala Academy has also organised a cultural programme which will be held at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani auditorium in Gopalganj.

Marking the closing days of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair alongside the occasion of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s 102nd birth anniversary, Bangla Academy has organised a special screening of Piplu Khan directed Bangladeshi independent docudrama ‘Hasina: A Daughter’s Tale’. The special screening will be held today at 7:30pm at the Bhasha Shahid Muktomoncho, Bangla Academy premises in the capital.

On the other hand, Bangladesh Film Development Corporation has arranged an event today to commemorate the birthday of the father of the nation.

The programme will begin on the morning by reciting holly Quran for Bangabandhu and his family on the premises of BFDC. There will be a milad-mahfil as well. After that, a special discussion on Bangabandhu will take place. BFDC will also cut a 100-pound cake during the celebration.

There will be a cultural segment too. Songs written on Bangabandhu will also be part of the programme. Along with this, the film ‘Chironjib Mujib’ based on the autobiography ‘Asampta Atmajibani’ of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be screened at the event.

Moreover, Bangladesh Betar, Bangladesh Television and other private TV and radio stations will air special programmes highlighting the significance of the day.
