‘Ms Marvel’ trailer reveals the rise of teenage superhero

Kamala Khan goes from daydreaming about superheroes to becoming one in the first trailer for ‘Ms Marvel’, Marvel Studios’ upcoming series centering on the teenager, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Canadian newcomer Iman Vellani stars as Kamala in the series.

The series, which debuts June 8 on Disney+, follows Kamala as she balances school, family and her newfound superpowers.

The first trailer gives us an illustrative crash course into the mind of Kamala Khan, who seems to spend a lot of her time with her head in the clouds, daydreaming about becoming her favorite superhero or privately harboring a crush on a boy she likes.

However, it looks as if their origin has been tweaked a little from the comics, with Kamala able to create and harness energy instead of changing her size or being able to stretch her limbs.

The cast of ‘Ms Marvel’ includes Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer and Nimra Bucha.
