Prominent actress Dolly Johur donated 10 of her awards to the Film Museum of the Bangladesh Film Archive.
She handed the awards over to Bangladesh Film Archive Director General Nizamul Kabir and Director Mofakkharul Iqbal on Wednesday at Bangladesh Film Archive.
The National Film Awards she won as ‘Best Actress’ in 1992 and ‘as Best Supporting Actress’ in 2006 are also among the 10 awards she donated to the museum.
Dolly Johur thinks the awards will help the future generations to enrich their knowledge of the history of films and artistes in Bangladesh.
Dolly Johur has received two
National Film Awards as well as the Bangladesh Chalachchitra Sangbadik Samiti Award, better known as Bachasas Award.
A seasoned thespian, Dolly Johur has acted in over 150 films as well as television dramas. Bangladesh Film Archive has made a documentary on her life and career.
Dolly Johur was born in Dhaka on July 16, 1955. She was active in theater while studying at Dhaka University’s Department of Sociology.
