Shipan, Subah starrer ‘Basanta Bikel’ to hit cinemas May 20

Dhallywood actor Shipan Mitra and newbie actress Shah Humayra Subah acted new film ‘Basanta Bikel’ is going to hit the cinemas on May 20.

Producer Shamsuzzaman Rimon announced the release date of the film at a press conference at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) on March 19. Director Sohanur Rahman Sohan, director Shaheen Sumon, actress Anjana, actor Saimon Sadik, actor Joy Chowdhury and cast and crew of the film ‘Basanta Bikel’ were present at the press conference.

Story, script and dialogue of the film are also written by director Rafique Sikder. Rafique Sikder’s third directorial ‘Basanta Bikel’ went on filming in early 2020 in Pabna after its launching in November 2019. Following a delay for months amid the pandemic, its shooting was resumed in December last year.

‘Basanta Bikel’ is a tragic love story of a Hindu couple named Rudra and Chandrabati who grew up in the town of Pabna and later studied at Dhaka University.

Director Rafique said, “My producer has announced the release date of the film ‘Basanta Bikel’ this spring. I want to release it on May 20. I believe audience will enjoy this film.”

I don’t make movies for money. I want to make people aware as well as the society. I have tried that here too”, he added.

The film also stars Omar Sani, Shanoor, Sucharita, Tanvir Tonu, Shiba Shanu and others. Actress Tanha Tasnia Islam along with actor Aman Reza will be making a guest appearance in the tragic love story.
