Sharon Stone to play villain in DC film ‘Blue Beetle’

Sharon Stone will appear in the DC universe in the film ‘Blue Beetle’. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sharon Stone will play the villain in the film. She will be playing villain Victoria Kord.

Victoria Kord is a brand-new character developed specifically for the film.

While it’s safe to assume that Blue Beetle won’t be a thing like Halle Berry’s critically-panned Catwoman, her character Victoria does have one thing in common with her Catwoman character, Laurel Hedare: they’re both villains created for their films. Victoria Kord shares a surname with DC Comics character Ted Kord, who played the second Blue Beetle, though any relation between the two is unknown at this time. The Wrap also reports that actor Raoul Max Trujillo (Mayans M.C.) will play the role of Carapax the Indestructible Man.

Blue Beetle, directed by Angel Manuel Soto and written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer. The film will star Xolo Mariduea of Cobra Kai. Mariduea will portray Jaime Reyes, a kid who gets abilities after coming into contact with extraterrestrial armor. Blue Beetle will be DC’s first film to feature a Latino hero, with Warner Bros.

The film will hit theaters on August 18, 2023.

Stone broke out with Basic Instinct (1992), received an Oscar nomination for Martin Scorsese’s Casino (1995) and won an Emmy for guest work on ABC’s The Practice in 2004. She is slated for a role in the upcoming second season of HBO’s The Flight Attendant, debuting April 21.
